Internal Examinations: 2020-21
The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) has published guidance for students and parents about how GCSE and ‘A’ level qualifications will be awarded in Summer 2021, which also includes appeals can be viewed here.
Parents and student may wish to visit the DfE “Be Exam Smart” website for information and ‘guidance to help students avoid making mistakes which could lose them marks or lead to disqualification from an exam’.
School-based Internal Assessments
Schools have been instructed by the DfE to compile portfolios of evidence to support Teacher Assessed Grades for Year 11 qualifications for the 2021 Summer Series.
The Year 11 Assessment Portfolio information for each subject can be read here.
Further details of the rationale arrangements for teacher assessed grading can be found in the letter sent to parents in April. A copy of which can be found here.
A copy of the Centre Policy for Passmores Academy can be found here.
Reviews of Centre Marks
Please refer to the appeal's procedure which can be found here.
Please be aware that reviews can lead to marks going down as well as up.
Special Consideration is a post-examination adjustment to a candidate’s mark or grade to reflect temporary illness, temporary injury or some other event outside of the candidate’s control at the time of the assessment, which has had, or is reasonably likely to have had, a material effect on a candidate’s ability to take an assessment or demonstrate his or her normal level of attainment in an assessment.
You can download a copy of the JCQ document A Guide to the Special Consideration Process 2020/2021 here.
Please notify the Exams Officer, on the day of the exam, if you feel that an application for Special Consideration should be considered for submission.
Collection of results
Results Day - Thursday 12th August 2021 - 9:30am-11:30am
If students are unable to collect their results personally and are sending a representative, please ensure they have written authority signed by the student, naming the person collecting the results. Identification may also be requested. Results may also be posted. For this, please ensure a stamped, self-addressed envelope is forwarded to The Data Team before the end of term (16.7.21).
Unfortunately, results cannot be given via email or phone on results day. Any results not collected will be retained in school and will be available for collection from Friday 13th August, from the school reception.
Please be aware that certificates issued on Results Day are only preliminary certificates. Actual certificates will arrive in centre from early November. You will be notified via email when these are ready for collection.
